  Feeding Therapy

Feeding Therapy addresses feeding difficulties due to oral-motor, swallowing and/or sensory processing difficulties related to interacting with and consuming foods. During feeding therapy sessions children will learn how to have positive, relaxed and playful interactions with both familiar (preferred) foods and less familiar (non-preferred) foods, while working towards increasing the variety of foods consumed in their diets. Feeding therapy helps infants and children with a wide array of feeding difficulties which may include one or more of the following:

  Reduced or Limited Intake

  Failure to Thrive/Poor Growth

  G-tube Feedings

  Food Refusal

Food Selectivity by Type and/or Texture

  Dysphagia (swallowing difficulty)

  Oral Motor Deficits

Difficulty Moving from Bottle to Baby Food to Table Food

  Mealtime Tantrums

In the area of feeding therapy our clinicians have a variety of specialized training that we incorporate into the therapy including:

  SOS Approach to Feeding

Feeding the Whole Child (A Mealtime Approach)
